Nancy Leiva is a vibrant youth leader in Corozal District, who was 26 years old when she was selected as a GOJoven Fellow. She obtained a Bachelors Degree in English from theUniversity of Belize, and a Masters degree in Social Sciences applied to Regional Studies with a specialization in Gender Violence at the University of Quintana Roo, Mexico. She has been a Social Science Lecturer at Centro Escolar México Junior College in the Corozal District since and has served as president of the GOJoven Belize Alumni Association (GOBelize) Board of Directors.Nancy is in constant interaction with youth and focuses on instilling values in young people so that they take up the challenge of playing active roles in their communities. She is also very determined to encourage women to take on greater leadership roles in Belizean society, lead independent lives and exercise their sexuality responsibly. Her future plans include ensuring that GOBelize is a leading and stable organization inBelize. She believes that with a solid foundation and continuous training in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health, she will be a great force in the revolution to improve the sexual health of Belizean women and men.
